Melissa told us that she started modeling just a few weeks before our shoot.  She could have fooled us.  She brought some serious game to the table and left us believing that she has a very bright future in her modeling career.

Melissa answered a few questions to help us get to know her better.

What made you want to become a model?

I’ve wanted to be a model since I was about five years old. I remember doing my cheesy modeling poses for the camera with my mom. It was  a lot of fun!

What is your favorite sports team?

Go Angels!

Who are your three favorite musicians or bands?

Its so hard to narrow it down. I would have to say 1. AC/DC 2. Muse 3. Bob Marley. I love Rock ‘n’ Roll most of all!

What are your favorite movie of all time?

Its a tie between Forrest Gump, The Prestige and The Harry Potter series. I’m a nerd I know;).

What is the place you would most like to travel to for a vacation?

Washington D.C. because it has a lot of our nation’s history and great weather.

What is one thing about you that most of your friends don’t know?

I’m secretly a book worm. I love James Patterson books.

Would you consider yourself shy or outgoing?

Outgoing! I’m a people person. I like to make friends and make people laugh.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

I’m blushing just thinking about it. I was at a huge church function for teens and when everyone was sitting down, me and a friend dared each other to run up on stage and switch two chairs around. Well I was all for it. So we said go! and I ran up there and grabbed a chair, then I turned to switch it with my friend and I noticed that she wasn’t there. She had chickened out and I was stuck up on stage by myself. Then all of the lights came on I looked into the faces of 300 very confused people. I set the chair down and bolted back to my seat and sat very low through the whole service.

What are qualities you find most attractive in a man?

A great sense of humor, honesty and loyalty.

If you could have one wish, what would you wish for?

For there to be no more poverty in the world. I hate seeing people suffer and not being able to help them. I grew up in a poor family so I have learned not to take anything for granted. I try to appreciate everything I am given in life and not be forgetful of it.

America has gone through tough times before.  During World War II, the pin up girl played an important role in lifting the spirits of troops stationed around the world. Not only pin ups adorn the personal quarters of G.I.s, but they were also painted on the noses of aircraft to help boost morale.

When it came to creating beautiful images of sexy, scantily clad women back in the 1940’s and 1950’s, nobody did it better than Alberto Vargas.  The Varga Girls, as they were known, that graced the pages of Esquire magazine set a new standard for the artistry of the pin up girl and influenced the definition of feminine beauty in the 20th century.  This is our tribute to Alberto Vargas and his important contribution to American culture.  Learn more about the Alberto Vargas and see the art work that served as the inspiration for the first Blitzed Girl photoshoot.

The idea for this photoshoot was to revisit the classic look of the Vargas pin ups and add our own style.  Given the current state of the Big 3 American automobile manufacturers, we thought it would be nice to use some classic American cars as the backdrop to remind our readers of a time when the American automobile was symbol of innovation, performance, and comfort.

We will be featuring a beautiful girl for you to admire each month.
